What We Believe: Our Foundation

The Bible

The bible is the verbally-inspired, inerrant word of God, containing the revelation

of His mind, will, and redemption. It’s historical and prophetic statements are

accurate. It is the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17, Peter 1:21, Matthew 5:17-18)

God

There is one God, the creator of all, eternally existent in three persons—the

Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

(Genesis 1:26, Deuteronomy 6:4, Hebrews 1:8, Acts 5:3-4, Matthew 28:19)

Jesus

Jesus is both the Son of God and the Word of God from eternity past. He was

born into the world as true man and true God (God manifest in flesh) to fulfill

God’s purpose as the Christ, the anointed Savior of mankind.

(John 1:1, Philippians 2:6, Matthew 1:23, Colossians 2:9)

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit brings conviction of sin and judgment to all men, and all who

repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as born again, indwelt, and joined to

the body of Christ (the church) by the Holy Spirit.

(John 16:8, 2 Peter 1:4, John 3:5-8, John 3:16, John 3:36, Romans 8:9-11, 1

Corinthians 12:13)

Man

As a result of the fall in the garden of Eden, mankind received a sinful nature,

leaving the entire human race hopelessly lost in their sin, unable to save

themselves from eternal punishment by their own righteousness or works.

(Genesis 3, Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5)

The Gospel

Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life (being perfect and sinless in his own

nature), died for the sins of the world on the cross at Calvary, was buried, rose

from the dead, and ascended back into heaven, where he currently sits at the

Father’s right hand. Faith in Jesus and His saving work on the cross is the only

way of salvation.

(Romans 5:18, Romans 5:6-11, Hebrews 9:28, Hebrews 7:25-27)
